Hastings Read brings a broad range of experience to help clients design and execute business and market strategy. He specializes in applying strategy design processes to help business teams develop market-winning strategies.
Mr. Read has completed strategy design projects for multiple business units within Centerior Energy, Corning, DuPont Dow Elastomers, Fraser Paper, Perkin Elmer, Praxair, Inc., Merck & Co., Specialty Minerals, Inc. and the Visteon Division of Ford. He has also completed consulting engagements with many other organizations including: American Home Products, Avon Products, AT&T, Bank of America, Boehringer Mannheim, Cedel, EJV Partners, First Alabama, First Boston, First Chicago, GE, Goldman Sachs, The Lowes Companies, Marine Midland Bank, Mobil, NationsBank, Salomon Brothers, Shawmut and Star Bank.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Read was a Partner of Price Waterhouse and Partners in New York. He was also a senior executive with Bankers Trust Company in London and New York.
An excellent communicator, Mr. Read is in demand at seminars sponsored by the Human Resource Planning Society, the National Trust Association, Business Week, Institute for International Research and other trade associations and organizations. His articles on management practices have appeared in Euromoney, Wall Street Computer Review and Securities Lending Magazine.
Mr. Read was educated at Cheltenham College and graduated from the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst. He completed his executive education at The London Business School and the Colgate Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia.
Mr. Read and his family live in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where, when he has time, he indulges his passion for competitive sailing. The Reads have been residents of the United States since 1984.
